During an interaction session with the beneficiaries at KNUST, Theodora Oduro, the Director of Students Affairs, explained that the meeting’s purpose was to help the foundation’s management get to know the new scholars and encourage them to study hard and become valuable citizens. She thanked the foundation on behalf of the university’s management for its generous support of talented but needy students. Oduro also advised the students to show their appreciation by working hard to make the most of their scholarships.
Patrick Hulede, Co-Founder and Board Member of the Foundation, shared that the foundation was established in honor of the late Patrick Hulede, the first manager of the University Printing Press (UPK). The foundation’s mission is to create opportunities for the less privileged to improve their lives.
Over the years, the Hulede Foundation has supported many basic and senior high schools in Kumasi. The foundation’s scholarship at KNUST aims to identify and assist brilliant students who are genuinely underprivileged in their pursuit of higher education
Patrick Hulede emphasized that the foundation is not only about providing financial support but also about offering mentorship, career development, and exposure to other life opportunities. The foundation hopes to instill in its recipients a culture of giving back to society.
