Types of Dutch Passports You Can Apply For
There are several types of Dutch Passports you can apply for. Each passport serves different purposes. This article will explain to you the various types of Dutch passports
1. Regular Passport (Nationaal Paspoort)
This is the most used passport in Netherlands. It is used for holiday and business travel and for identification as required by Dutch law. It contains 34 pages and it is valid for 10 years from the date of issue.
2. Second Passport (Tweede Paspoort)
This is issued to frequent travelers who face issues entering certain countries because of the visas or stamps in their regular passport. It is also issued to people because their regular passport is being processed for a new visa. This passport also contains 34 pages and it is valid for 2 years from the date of issue.
3. Business Passport (Zakenpaspoort)
This passport is used by individuals who travel frequently for business and need extra pages for visas. It contains 66 pages and it is valid for 10 years from the date of issue.
4. Diplomatic Passport (Diplomatiek Paspoort)
This is issued Issued to individuals representing the Dutch government on official diplomatic business, granting them diplomatic immunity as defined by international agreements. It contains contains 66 pages and it is valid till one of no longer in certain positions.

5. Service Passport (Dienstpaspoort)
This is also issued to individuals representing the Dutch government on official business, but without granting diplomatic immunity. It also contains 66 pages.
6. Emergency Passport (Noodpaspoort)
This passport is issued to Dutch citizens who need to travel urgently but are unable to obtain a regular passport in time. This passport has a pink cover and contains handwritten information. It is issued by the Royal Marechaussee or Dutch representatives abroad. Strict rules apply for obtaining this passport.
7. Alien’s Passport (Vreemdelingenpaspoort)
It is issued to non-Dutch residents of the Netherlands who are unable to obtain a passport from their own country. This passport has a green cover.
8. Laissez-Passer
This is an emergency travel document for Dutch citizens in urgent situations. It has a blue cover and contains 8 pages with handwritten information.
