As candidates prepare for the pending WAEC examination for Senior High School candidates, the Ghana Education News team is challenging all candidates to solve the following: WASSCE 2024: Sample English Language Questions.
Candidates are encouraged to brainstorm each question carefully and plan the essays.
This should be followed by a conscious, practical effort towards solving them. Candidates can also discuss these questions with their colleagues to broaden their understanding of the parts of the various questions.

WASSCE 2024: Sample English Language Questions
Let us take a look at the essay questions provided here.
Question 1
You are about to leave secondary school, and a friend of yours who is attending school in another town has written to inquire about what you wish to do after leaving school. Write a reply to him explaining your plans.
Question 2
Write an article suitable for publication in your school magazine on the effects of drug abuse.
Question 3
Write a letter to your father, who has been on a long course abroad, telling him how the family has been faring in his absence.
Question 4
Write an article suitable for publication in a cultural magazine on the advantages and disadvantages of the extended family system.

You have just completed your WASSCE and need a job. Write an application for employment to a reputable company and explain three reasons why you are fit for the job. Tip: This is a formal letter and an application for employment, for that matter
Question 12
Your teacher is disappointed in you because you were named as one of the students who broke school rules. Write a letter to him or her explaining your innocence.
