While the Ohio State graduation ceremony was going on, a woman who had joined many parents and families fell from the stands and died. The sad event has sent shock waves to all those who were present at the event, including the university’s managers and security protocols.
Unfortunately, the 53-year-old died at the spot where she fell outside Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Sunday, per a Franklin County Coroner’s Officer’s update. The Columbus Dispatch has ruled out an intentional suicide and instituted investigations to unravel the mysteries behind her death.
The deceased fell from 136 feet (41 metres) above the stadium; however, the police do not suspect foul play. The university spokesperson, Ben Johnson, said Tuesday that the fall may also be an accident.
According to the university’s released data, the sad incident occurred around midday, and the university proceeded to organize the graduation as if nothing had happened.
She fell off at the stadium’s Bell Tower area while the final graduating students were filing in.
According to the commencement program, the woman’s daughter was among those graduating.
According to a report filed by washingtonpost sighted by Ghana Education news “The victim, 53-year-old Larissa Brady, was identified through her fingerprints, the Franklin County Coroner’s Office said Tuesday morning”
“Ohio State is grieving the death of Larissa Brady, a family member of one of our graduates,” OSU spokesman Ben Johnson said in a statement. “Our hearts go out to her family and friends during this exceptionally difficult time.”
The coroner’s office did not provide details about what led to Brady’s death, and Johnson said that “police do not suspect foul play or an accidental fall.”
