Please can I get pictures of all the 2024 BECE questions?: Requests from a candidate

As the 2024 BECE gets closer, it seems some candidates have already given up and believe that the only way they can cross the BECE’s Red Sea is to get W AEC’s questions and answers for 2024 leaked to them. A potential BECE candidate asks, “Please, can I get pictures of all the 2024 BECE questions?”

Someone left a comment on one of our publications. Such messages are not only worrying, but they can also paint a true picture of the kind of preparation candidates are getting from their various schools as well.

When students have adequate self-confidence and adequate counselling as they prepare for the BECE, they may come to believe that the only way to excel in the examination is by getting access to leaked pictures of all the 2024 BECE questions.

Regardless of cost, students may want additional support if their schools are not providing enough support and preparation. This also applies when their parents or guardians pay for such services.

Finally, if the BECE candidates have come to a point where the student believes in leaked questions rather than their dedicated study, preparation, and self-belief, they may begin to look out for such favours at a fee or for free.

Final-year students in Junior High School must understand that getting pictures of all the 2024 BECE questions in themselves does not guarantee passing the BECE. It is also illegal to possess or have knowledge of the BECE questions and answers prior to the official exam. Access to these materials undermines the examination’s credibility, and the WAEC, along with any individuals found to possess these materials, violates the examination’s rules and faces legal consequences.

Rather than searching for images of all the 2024 BECE questions (leaked questions), we recommend candidates thoroughly prepare for the exam and attempt to answer as many pass questions and probable examination questions as possible, using the newly released WAEC question format.

Teachers and schools should give their students advice, inspire them to study, and show a commitment to their preparation.

Parents have a critical role to play in shaping their learners’ focus as the 2024 BECE draws nearer.
