2024 WASSCE Core Mathematics Questions Leaked Online As Of Wednesday Evening. Questions Were Seen Circulating Online Yesterday.

The 2024 WASSCE core mathematics questions were leaked before candidates sat for the paper. These questions were leaked a night to the paper. As per our previous post, we stated a possible leak of the paper, and it actually did happen.

We warned of all possible channels that leaked the same papers previous years, but no measures were taken into account. The actual papers that are being written right now were leaked yesterday evening, and these questions are actually the same.

Telegram channels and dealers promised to deliver the actual questions to candidates at a fee and surprisingly too, it was shared to them and some were seen 30 to 60 minutes before the paper. These were the actual papers that were circulating online.

All the 12 questions that were seen on the eve of the paper and early this morning were actually the same papers WAEC brought to candidates to write. An examining body that seeks to disallow examination malpractices but can’t stop the leakage of questions?

A sample of the questions that were seen circulating were the same questions that were given to candidates this morning.

Number four of the questions that were circulating was:

“The mean age in years of n boys in a class was 17.6. At the end of the academic year, 4 boys aged 16,19, 20 and 17 were dismissed. The new mean age of boys in the class became 0.2 less than the original mean. Find the value of n”

This same question was seen in the actual WASSCE paper, with the ‘n’ changing to ‘t’ and the ‘boys’ changing to ‘girls’.

“The mean age in years of t girls in a class was 17.6. At the end of the academic year, 4 girls aged 16,19, 20 and 17 were dismissed. The new mean age of girls in the class became 0.2 less than the original mean. Find the value of t.”

Comparing the two, they are both the same question demanding the same value (answer). This is not the only question that were seen circulating online. Several of the leaked questions were dropped in the actual paper for candidates.

All the leaked questions were seen in the actual paper released by WAEC Ghana. Is this the way forward to solving examination malpractice? And if WAEC, Ghana denies having leaked the questions, how then did these questions get to telegram?
