No SHS or University For These 2024 WASSCE and BECE Candidates

As candidates prepare for the various WAEC-administered examinations, we deem it fit to share the 2024 WASSCE (SC), BECE, and NovDec Candidates Who Will Not Go To SHS or University. We hope this post does not scare you but instead helps you to take the right decisions, avoid trouble, and work hard to excel in your examination.
No SHS or University For 2024 WASSCE and BECE Candidates With The Following Challenges And Issues
Avoid leaked examination questions.
As the examination draws near, all manner of people and syndicates who do not have any access to the 2024 WASSCE (SC), BECE, and NovDec examination questions from WAEC will claim to have them and charge candidates and parents fees for an illegal service. Depending on such questions will also prevent students from preparing well and getting ready for an examination of their lives.
At the end, your money will be gone, your performance in the examination will be poor, and you will fail. If you are caught by the invigilators, we at Ghanaeducationnews.org will be more than excited because such activities must be stopped to improve the credibility of the examination and also offer the best opportunity to excel to candidates who genuinely prepared and gave their best in the examination. If you are caught cheating in the examination and your results are cancelled, you cannot continue your education at the secondary school or the university.
For private BECE and NOVDEC candidates who have failed their respective examinations already, you must distance yourself from leaked examination materials.
Failing the examination is not the end of your life, but it will derail you.
It is no news if a 2024 WASSCE (SC), BECE, or NovDec candidate fails the examination; however, a failure, apart from stressing you, will also mean your inability to progress to the next level on the education ladder. This can be very frustrating. But you can avoid this by becoming more disciplined and working hard. If other students passed through the school you are currently preparing from and excelled, you have no excuse to fail. Check your study habits and improve on them; study smart and not hard; and seek help. The earlier you start your preparation, the better.
The fact that if you fail the 2024 WASSCE (SC), BECE, or NovDec, you will not have the chance to continue your education instantly must challenge you to work better.
BECE grade 9 in either English or Maths, and D7 in either WASSCE or NovDec
If you are writing the BECE, remember that grade 9 in English or math will automatically deny you the chance to be placed in any of the schools under the Free SHS. Again, even obtaining grade 7 or 8 in these subjects or in Social and Integrated Science increases your chances of not being placed in your preferred schools.
To avoid this, we challenge candidates and teachers to work hard on the core subjects. For candidates preparing for the WASSCE or NOVDEC, you can do yourself a lot of good by working hard to pass your core subjects with grades not worse than C5. No serious university wants to admit students who are so weak that they cannot obtain a good pass in Integrated Science, English Language, Mathematics, and Social Studies.
These public universities don’t accept D7 at all for the core subjects and even sometimes the electives. If you are studying at the likes of the University of Ghana-Legon, the University of Cape Coast (USS), and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), among others, then study as though your life depends on it and excel, or else you may have to forget admission right after the WASSCE.

School selection is based on parents taste and not candidates academic strength.
One of the major reasons why BECE candidates do not get placed is their failure to obtain raw scores that match the requirements and cutoff points for top category A schools. Often, parents rush to select large schools for their academically weaker wards, unable to compete with others for the limited spots available.
The bitter truth is that if your ward is preparing for the 2024 BECE but his or her raw score for the 4 core subjects plus the next top two subjects is constantly less than 400/600, chances are that he or she will not get placed in a school like Achimota SHS, Aburi Girls, or Accra Academy, among others, for Science and Business, for instance. Do not choose big schools when your ward hardly makes a 300/600 raw score in the mocks, for instance.
Do not blame the government or WAEC if you chase after dreams instead of the reality and end up choosing schools your ward’s grades can not take him or her to. Only choose schools based on your ward’s academic strength on not your taste and preferences.
