Teachers May 2024 Salary Validation Drops amidst OSP’s Investigation
According to reliable sources, the Ghana Education News portal can confirm that the May 2024 salary validation for Ghana Education Service staff has begun. We advise all staff to log onto the portal to complete the May 2024 salary validation process.
The May 2024 salary validation was pending prior to the infamous investigations and reports released by the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
According to the OPS, a public school in the northern region of Ghana that did not exist had its non-existent staff validated over and over again, resulting in the state losing financial resources.
The investigation revealed that
- The school the outfit investigated is fictional and does not exist.
- The school’s staff does not yet exist; they receive monthly validation and salaries.
- GH₵2.8 million in unearned salaries has been paid to ‘ghost names,’ which included individuals who were deceased, retired, or no longer in their positions.
- A staggering amount of GH₵2,854,144.80 was identified as unearned monthly salaries.
There have been issues with the validation of salaries for GES staff due to allegations of system abuse and delegated duties.
In certain cases, validators have declined to validate staff due to personal conflicts they may have with specific staff members. In 2022, the GES urged all those assigned such duties to carry them out according to the official guidelines.
Allegations also surfaced that the non-validation of these staff members’ names by accredited validators occurred solely as a punitive measure, motivated by personal disagreements or differences. In 2022, the Informated Teachers Network published a blog post that partially addressed this issue.
MY KPIEONAA KUTIINA JUSTINE my salary has cut out for last and this without a reason but according to my validator that he add me as a missing staff but he has been validating me since 2023. I don’t know where my problem is coming from
