Friday, 8th November 2024 not a Public Holiday
The Ministry of Interior has informed the nation that 8 November 2024 has not been declared a public holiday. Since the 2024 election is a day away from the official farmers day celebration date, farmers will be recognised on 8th November instead of 6th December.
The 6th of December, which is a Friday, will be the official holiday for Ghanaians and not the 8th of November, 2024. Per this announcement, all businesses, schools, and public offices will open and operate their usual businesses and offer services to the public just like any working day.
In a press release by the Ministry of Interior, signed by the Minister, Henry Quartey, the ministry furthered that the statutory public holiday that marks Farmers Day in 2024 will be marked on Friday, 6th December 2024.
Farmer’s Day is a public holiday and a day set aside in Ghana to celebrate and recognise the contribution of farmers at all levels to the development of Ghana as well as to thank them for their contribution to the food backet of Ghanaians as well as for the supply raw materials for indistry and export.
Below is the full statement released to confirm that Friday, 8th November 2024, is not a public holiday.
The general public is hereby informed that Friday, 8th November 2024, is NOT a Public Holiday even though the 2024 National Farmers’ Day will be observed on that day.
However, Friday, 6th December 2024, which marks Farmers’ Day, remains a Statutory Public Holiday and will be observed as such throughout the country.
