East Legon’s La-Bawaleshie Presby Basic 1 School Refurbished by Lawyer Manuel Sawyerr
As part of efforts to improve the school and classroom environment for teaching and learning, a private legal practitioner, Lawyer Manuel Harry Sawyerr, has refurbished East Legon’s La-Bawaleshie Presby Basic 1 School, located close to the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghaha (ICAG).
It is one of the major public basic schools built by the Presbyterian Church and managed by the Ghana Education Service. You can describe the community school, located at the heart of the Ayawaso West Wuogon Municipality, as a cluster of schools.
The renovation works carried out through the benevolence of Lawyer Manuel Harry Sawyerr included civil works such as tiling floors, changing doors, and installing modern ventilation systems. New lighting systems, curtains, and fans were other fixtures and fittings fixed to further enhance the learning environment.
Additionally, schools received a wide variety of books to support students and teachers in their teaching and learning activities.
While handing over the renovated edifice of East Legon’s La-Bawaleshie Presby Basic 1 School, Lawyer Manuel Sawyerr reminded everyone of the importance of education and the pivotal role it plays in the long-term growth of learners. He described education as a tool for growth and social inclusion in the community’s development.
Lawyer Manuel Sawyerr is a Harvard graduate and alumnus of the Premier University, the University of Ghana.
He currently serves as a member of the National Petroleum Authority Board, where he brings to bear his vast knowledge of energy, natural resources, and corporate law.
The school authorities expressed their profound gratitude to Lawyer Sawyerr for the gesture and appealed to the general public for more support.
