PRESEC Legon Beats St Peters to Win 2024 ThesharksQuiz

PRESEC Wins 2024 ThesharksQuiz

The Legon PRESEC lads have again emerged as winners of the TheSharks contest after beating their rivals, St. Peters SHS, in the final contest.

ThesharksQuiz is an intense and exciting academic competition that tests students on literacy, numeracy, STEM, and social literacy.

With this sweet victory, PRESEC Legon has won a back-to-back contest, just like they did in the NSMQ in 2023 and 2024.

The defending champions have successfully defended their 2023 trophy after coolly dispatching St. Peter in the finals right from round one.

Legon PRESEC scored 50-0 against St. Peters SHS in round one of the competition, sending shock waves down their spines. The round one result was the revelation of things to come, but St. Peters SHS believed they could still cause an upset.

But that was not to be, as PRESEC won the second round by 90-50. The last two rounds ended 30-50 and 20-40 in favour of St. Peters SHS, but that was too good a win, too late, with fewer scores to cause an upset against PRESEC.

PRESEC has proven to be good at crafting engaging taglines after winning academic contests. When they won their 7th NSMQ trophy in 2024, their tagline was “We 7ing a leaving God,” and after their 8th NSMQ triumph, they changed it to “God is Gr8.” After winning their third championship at the SHARKS contest, they have teamed up with VIC3 for PRESEC.

PRESEC Legon has made it a habit of setting and breaking their own records. This 2024 final was also their fifth successive final in the SHARKS contest.

Presec first won the competition in 2020. They won their second in 2023 and made it back-to-back in 2024. With this win, PRESE has made history by becoming the only school to win #TheSharksQuiz a record two times.
